Alder, Ogham Tree for Ostara

The blessing of the Eostara fire, the lunar celebration, the intense light of the Ostara Moon, with the energy of springtime all around us, is a time of rebirth, renewal, resurrection of life and new beginnings held on the first Full Moon after the Vernal Equinox in honor of the ancient Teutonic/Celtic Moon Goddess of Spring and Dawn Eostre (Eostar).
At the time of Ostara, the Alder is flourishing on riverbanks, roots in the water, bridging that magical space between both heaven and earth. As a tree of balance, Alder is associated with both elements fire and water (gate to the otherworld; spirit world; fae). The Alder (Elder) month, called Fearn by the Celts, and pronounced fairin, comes from the old Anglo-Saxon word 'aeld' meaning fire. Alder is an Ogham tree for Ostara, and the alder wood was used to light the fires for the Spring festival at Ostara.

Ostara, The Maiden Archetype: The Carefree, The Vulnerable & The Independent

The world,
Its hatred,
Its worries,
Its troubles,
Ha!
I am above it.
I soar through the skies,
A pirate of the stratosphere.
I live for myself
I fly,
A testament to freedom.
I look down from above
And see all the lonely people,
I wonder where they come from,
And where they all belong,
But I know where I am going
Nowhere.
I soar up to the heavens,
And touch back down for tea.
I steer where I please;
There is no “off course,”
My life is shining,
A carefree proof
That all you tired, lonely people
Need not be tired
Forevermore.
